Son To Mother

I saw your face in Africa today.

Your smile was everywhere.

The warmth of your eyes welcomed me home.

You reached out to me and embraced me with your secure but gentle hug,

Pulling me into your heart and gently patting my back.

As I turned and walked away, you looked at peace, assured that your son had returned.
